This November I got the chance to work with the Vienna based NGO Sonne International. In the last 15 years they built around 50 schools in countries like India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Ethiopia, to bring education to the local kids.
For that project we went to Bodhgaya/India, where a new school got opened for nearly 100 kids.
Because of the really high violence against girls and women in India, Sonne International started with a self defence (Karate) course for girls. For that reason the European Karate champion Alisa Buchinger came with us to teach the girls a few tricks to protect them self.
